Net Neutrality - It is so boringly important!

I don't know if you know John Oliver, but you need to watch this rant about Net Neutrality

Personally, I don't watch HBO, so I'm a bit late in encountering this rant, but it worth taking the time to watch.

Do you know what a "Sectarian War" means?

Why do all the newscasters keep calling what is happening in Syria and Iraq a "Civil War?" That is not an even vaguely correct term. A correct term would be "Sectarian War" -- but most Americans don't realize that this means "Religious War." The Shiite and the Sunnis have been, literally, at each others throats for some 1400 years -- still over the same thing -- who should succeed the Prophet Muhammad.

There is no "Civil society" in Syria and Iraq -- they are "Religious societies." Americans assume that "Civil" means "non Religious," i.e. non-sectarian.

The Caliph is the supreme religious and political leader of an Islamic State, a Caliphate. Caliph means "Successor," in this case to Muhammad.

The last Caliphate ended in 1924 when the first President of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, as part of his reforms, constitutionally abolished the institution of the Caliphate. -- the end of the Ottoman Empire.

Bowe Bergdahl -- CIA Operative?

As more bits and pieces of the Bowe Bergdahl story come out it is starting to look like this was a completely orchestrated CIA/NSA operation -- Berghdal was recruited to become an "agent," to infiltrate the Haqqani network -- which is "run" by the ISI organization of the Pakistani Military, the same ones who harbored Osama Bin Laden inside Pakistan -- and an organization on which the US Intelligence Community has no eyes and ears -- no "human int"! The Haqqani run the NE Pakistan "autonomous region." They also apparently "run" the Taliban both in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Curioser and Curioser.

There are quite a few "clues" floating around supporting this idea:

* "Explanations" of why the "Classified" files on Bergdahl even exist.

* Why ALL briefings and discussions on this operation have been behind closed doors and strict security?

* Why the Military clamped a Gag Order on the members of his platoon when he disappeared 5 years ago.

* The explanations of WHO actually has been holding Bergdahl for the past 5 years.

Anyone who has ever been involved with the Military and various "Intelligence" organizations over the years can see the fingerprints -- that the media (including Fox and CNN) can't or won't see them is like Obama conveniently forgetting that during WWII we were under SEVERE CENSORSHIP when he makes comments about "social media" then vs now.

This whole thing might have gone on unnoticed had not the White House attempted to make a "Campaign activity" out of his return; and then sent out talking points written by people with no background in either the Military or Intelligence operations.
"Slips of the tongue" by folks like Susan Rice who claimed that Bergdahl served with "Honor and Distinction" -- did she and the White House handlers NOT know that phrase has a specific meaning to the Military and the UCMJ?
